About Dr. Dodson

Dr. Dodson is board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon and has been in clinical practice for more than 30 years. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Oregon and his dental and public health degrees from Harvard’s School of Dental Medicine and School of Public Health. After completing residency training, he completed a National Institute of Health fellowship in clinical epidemiology.

In addition to being a key member of the team at ClearChoice Dental Implant Center in Seattle, Dr. Dodson is the chair of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and interim chair of the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Washington School of Dentistry. Dr. Dodson also has been a Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Harvard School of Dental Medicine and an Attending Surgeon at Massachusetts General Hospital. He previously served as associate professor in the Department of Surgery at Emory School of Medicine in Atlanta. He has published more than 100 contributions in peer-reviewed journals and also has served as a team doctor for the Boston Bruins, who honored him with a Stanley Cup ring in 2011. Dr. Dodson has been a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a member of the Academy of Osseointegration. He has similarly been a member of the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the AONA-Craniomaxillofacial division.
