Dr. Cabanillas is a graduate of New York University with a degree of Doctor in Dental Surgery. He completed a General Practice Residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center, in Miami Beach, FL where he received extensive training in Oral Surgery, Periodontics and Restorative Dentistry. Afterwards, he completed a combined Prosthodontics Program at Harvard University/VA Hospital in Boston, MA and upon completion, received the first honorary mention in the 22 years of existence of this combined program.
Dr. Cabanillas has been working in private practice since 1997. He served as Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Florida from 1998-2005. From 2015-2017, he was involved in treating complex multidisciplinary cases in medically compromised patients at the VA Hospital in Palm Beach, FL. His scope of practice includes all aspects of general dentistry, full mouth reconstruction, cosmetic procedures, periodontics and implants. During his 25+ years in practice, he has successfully performed over 500 cases of full mouth reconstruction; has placed and restored over 7,000 implants and 500 arches of All on 4. In addition, he is LANAP(Laser-Assisted New Attachment Procedure) certified and has training in Minimally Invasive Tunneling Soft Tissue Grafts. He has been performing periodontal procedures successfully for 25 years including osseous surgery, crown lengthening, bone grafts (GBR), soft tissue grafts, frenectomies, alveoloplasty, and sinus lifts, among others. His patients love his attention to detail, soft hands, sense of humor and passion for his profession.
Dr. Cabanillas is an active member of the American College of Prosthodontists and the Academy of Osseointegration. Dr. Cabanillas loves spending time with his wife and two children. He enjoys traveling; scuba diving; shooting skeet and sporting clays.
