Samuel J. Razook, DDS

Henry Schwartz, DMD

Dr. Schwartz received his DMD from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 1994 and a Certificate in Prosthodontics from the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry in 1996, where he completed a residency in Prosthodontics. Roberto Velasco, DDS, PA

Dr. Velasco is a member of both the American College of Prosthodontists, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.

He was born in Colombia, where he went to dental school at Xaveriana University. After graduating in the top five of his class and practicing dentistry for eight years, Dr. Velasco went to Florida to pursue his dream of becoming a prosthodontist. He attended Nova Southeastern University and, after three years, graduated top of his class.

Dr. Velasco was then appointed to teach and became a full-time faculty member at Nova Southeastern University in both the Restorative and Prosthodontic Departments. He was in charge of the Dental Implants, Occlusion and Dental Bio-Materials Courses. He came to Austin in early 2003.

Dr. Velasco has lectured both nationally and internationally, mostly on implants. He has extensive training in high-tech dentistry and implant dentistry. He was one of the first dentists in Austin to train and implement in his practice, Teeth-in-an-Hour, a state-of-the-art technology in which Dr. Velasco can provide a completely edentulous patient with implants and an implant retained prosthesis, all in under one hour. Dr. Velasco has also trained in Europe on the All-on-4 implant procedure

Todd Eggleston, DMD

Dr. Eggleston has authored or co-authored several articles about facial reconstruction and surgery in refereed professional journals. Dr. Eggleston has been placing implants since 1994, and has focused much of his practice in recent years on implant reconstruction and implant dentistry. Dr. Eggleston participated in the very first training in the country offered by Nobel Biocare on their CT-guided implant placement, and performed the first guided surgery in Austin. Dr. Eggleston has also performed the first cases of the All-on-4 surgery in Austin.

Donald E. Romsa, DDS

Bush on behalf of the Healthcare Network of Racine in 1992 and received the Community Outreach Award from the Wisconsin Dental Association in 1996. Neil Hagen, DDS

Patrick J. Pierre, DDS, DFMP

Dr. Pierre graduated from the Dental School at the University of Paris, France in 1970. He worked in private practice for a few years and taught at the School of Dentistry in Paris. He attended the Fixed Periodontal Prosthesis Postgraduate Program at the University of Illinois, where he received his Specialty Certificate in Fixed Prosthodontics in 1976. He then attended the Periodontics Postgraduate Program at the University of Illinois where he received his Specialty Certificate in Periodontics in 1977.

He was appointed Assistant Professor and taught undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Illinois, where he became the Director of the periodontal Prosthesis Postgraduate Program. Dr. Pierre has been practicing Adult Reconstructive, Restorative, Implant and Cosmetic Dentistry in private practice since 1983.

Steve M. Parel, DDS

Dr. Parel received his dental degree from The Medical College of Virginia in 1969. He became a faculty member in the University of Texas System in 1975, rising to the rank of full professor in the San Antonio Medical and Dental Schools in 1978. He served as head of the Maxillofacial Prosthetics Division in the Department of Prosthodontics until 1991. Dr. Parel was formerly a professor at Baylor College of Dentistry—Texas A&M University System Health Science Center and director of the Center of Oral Maxillofacial Prosthodontics in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery/Pharmacology.

William R. Phillips, DDS, MD

Dr. Phillips received his dental degree from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1997. He then went on to obtain his medical degree at Texas Tech University Health Science Center, after which he completed an intern year in general surgery at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and the VA hospital. He then returned to Dallas and finished his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at Baylor College of Dentistry and Baylor University Medical Center. Since completing his residency in 2003, he has maintained a private practice in Dallas, Texas.

As a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, he specializes in the treatment of diseases, injuries and malformations involving functional and aesthetic aspects of the mouth, teeth and facial regions. His practice is focused on providing surgically advanced dental implant techniques.

He is currently an attending surgeon at Baylor University Medical Center, where he is involved with the training of residents in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery program at Baylor College of Dentistry. Dr. Brownd has been involved in dental implants since 1979 and was involved in early research projects with dental implants before final FDA approval in the early eighties. John Holtzen, DMD

Dr. Holtzen is a native of Northern California. He grew up in the small town of Healdsburg and is a graduate of California State University. In 1994 he graduated in the top of his class from Temple University School of Dentistry with his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. He then completed a surgical internship at the Johns Hopkins University Hospital and then later, a surgical residency at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center and MCP Hahnemann University Hospitals. Brendan G. Johnson, DDS, OMFS

Daniel F. Galindo, DDS

Dr. Galindo received his dental degree in 1992 from Universidad Javeriana School of Dentistry. Four years later, he was accepted at the University of Rochester Eastman Dental Center (Rochester, NY) to pursue specialty training, and in 1999, received his certificate of Specialist in Prosthodontics. He later served as Assistant Professor in the Department of Prosthodontics and Operative Dentistry at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine (Farmington, CT).

Jeffrey M. Burstein, DDS

Dr. Burstein is a native of Northern California and earned his Bachelor’s & Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of California-Los Angeles. He then completed his medical degree and an additional 6 years of hospital based surgical and anesthesia training in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at USC in Southern California. The advanced training he received in anesthesia allows patients the opportunity for a safe, caring and comfortable atmosphere during removal of teeth and dental implant placement in the office.

Dr. Burstein practiced in a multispecialty group practice in Scottsdale, Arizona, prior to moving to Portland.  Working closely with a variety of dental specialist gave him a great perspective on both the surgical and restorative aspects of dental implants.  He has authored several articles and was the 2009 recipient of the Charles E. John A. Sorensen, DMD, PhD

Dr. Sorensen completed his biology degree at the University of Oregon. He earned his dental degree at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston and a specialty certificate in Fixed Prosthodontics at Wadsworth V.A. Hospital in West Los Angeles. He also received a PhD in Dental Materials at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark. Dr. Sorensen is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics and has performed implant prosthodontic treatment for over 25 years.

For 10 years Dr. Sorensen was Director of the Advanced Prosthodontics Specialty training program at UCLA. In 1994 he was appointed to an endowed chair at OHSU as the Oregon Dental Association Centennial Professor of Restorative Dentistry, Chair of the Crown & Bridge Department, and Founder and Director of the Dental Clinical Research Center. Dr. Sorensen left OHSU in 2003 and founded Pacific Dental Institute where he had a full-time
specialty practice in prosthodontics, conducted clinical studies, performed dental materials research and offered continuing dental education courses.

John A. Sobieralski, DDS, MS

Franklin A. Niggebrugge, DDS

Dr. Niggebrugge was born in Montreal, Canada, where he obtained a degree in biochemistry at McGill University. Following several years of researching colon cancer, Dr. Niggebrugge enrolled in dental school in Buffalo, New York and graduated with multiple honors and awards, including Magna Cum Laude. His residency in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery was completed at the Washington Hospital Center in D.C., where he met his future wife, Dr. Yinka Davies, who practices pediatric gastroenterology. Dr. Niggebrugge made Northern California his home in 2001.

Michael K. Parsons, DDS

Dr. Parsons earned his Bachelor's Degree at Southeast Missouri State University. He obtained his Dental Doctorate from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry. Following Dental School, Dr. Parsons completed a one year General Practice residency at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. He was then accepted to the Medical College of Georgia in the specialized field of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. His intensive four-year training included maxillofacial reconstruction, facial trauma, general anesthesia, bone grafting, and dental implants. During his residency, Dr. Parsons also completed a fellowship in Cleft Lip and Palate Surgery at Dankook University in Seoul, South Korea.

Dr. Parsons is Board Certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and is a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is also a member of the American Dental Association, the Missouri Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and has been the past President of the St. Louis Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Jeffrey M. Kratky, DMD

Dr. Kratky grew up in St. Louis County and earned a degree in biology at Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri. He was then accepted to Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine, where he graduated in 1994. Dr. Kratky completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. In addition to extensive training in dentoalveolar surgery and general anesthesia, his four-year surgical training included facial trauma, reconstruction, dento-facial deformities and obstructive sleep apnea.

Dr. Kratky is Board Certified in Oral Surgery and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Kratky has been in practice in the St. Louis area since 1998. Dr. Kratky has served a three-year term as Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at St. Anthonys Hospital. He also has served as President of the South County District as well as being a member on the Board of The Greater St. Louis Dental Society. Kyle S. Christensen, DDS

Dr. Christensen received his bachelor degree from the University Utah.  He then performed an externship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Texas at San Antonio. He obtained his dental degree and completed his residency training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Washington. Dr. Christensen went into private practice in Salt Lake City, Utah where he maintains a comprehensive practice in Oral and Facial Surgery.

Wade A. Peers, DDS

Dr. Peers earned his dental degree at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry and went on to complete his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in LaCrosse, Wisconsin.

Board certified by the American Board of Oral And Maxillofacial Surgery and the National Board of Anesthesiology, Dr. Peers is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Dental Society and the Salt Lake District Dental Society.

Brian R. Carter, DDS

Dr. Carter received his doctorate degree in dentistry from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska in 1991.  He then furthered his education by completing advanced training and certification as a specialist in prosthodontics at the University of Nebraska, in Lincoln, Nebraska in 1993. Since 1993, Dr. Carter has established and maintained two private prosthodontic practices in the Salt Lake City and Utah Valley areas of Utah. He has extensive experience in the restoration and replacement of teeth involving dental implants, fixed and removable complete and partial dentures, and cosmetic smile makeover. He is a member of the American College of Prosthodontists, American Dental Association and Utah Dental Association.

Debora Armellini, DDS, MS, FACP

Dr. Armellini received her dental degree from the Universidad Central de Venezuela. She received a Master’s Degree at the University of Michigan and embarked on a clinical Fellowship in Implant Prosthodontics at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto.

As a prosthodontist, Dr. Armellini is dedicated to the highest standard of care in the restoration and replacement of teeth. She has taught as an assistant professor at the University of Michigan, the University of Toronto, and the University of Maryland. Her research topics include the impact of dental implant treatments on quality of life, dental treatment with shortened dental arches, and computerized 3-D treatment planning with guided surgery. She has been widely published in peer-reviewed prosthodontics journals and has lectured at many national and international conferences. Dr. Armellini is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics and a Fellow in Prosthodontics of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada.

Stuart L. Graves, DDS, MS

Dr. Graves received his DDS from the University of Detroit in 1972. He has held appointments at Georgetown University Hospital, Fairfax Hospital, Fair Oaks Hospital, and Reston Hospital Center.

Dr. Graves has published several articles on implant dentistry, and currently lectures both nationally and internationally on “Practice Management” and “Advanced Surgical Procedures” for dental implants. He is past President of the Mid-Atlantic Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, past President of the Implant Society of Northern Virginia, and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
