Carl Brownd, DDS, MS Prosthodontist Dr. Brownd received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1978 and then completed a Dental Residency at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Temple, Texas. He obtained his prosthodontic specialty training and received a Masters of Dental Science in Prosthodontics from The University of Texas Graduate School in 1982. He continued his training at UCLA and received a Certificate in Maxillofacial Prosthetics in 1983. He is Board Certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontists and a Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists. Dr. Brownd is a member of numerous dental societies and professional organizations, and past President of the Colorado Prosthodontic Society. Dr. Brownd has been involved in dental implants since 1979 and was involved in early research projects with dental implants before final FDA approval in the early eighties. He served on the clinical faculty at the University of Colorado Dental School, the Children’s Hospital Cleft Palate Team, and the St. Joseph’s Hospital Dental faculty for many years. He maintained a private practice limited to Prosthodontics and Dental Implants in Denver for 24 years before relocating to Las Vegas. He has received the following recognitions: 5280 Denver Magazine – “Denver’s Top Dentists,” 2005; and “America’s Best Dentists” – 100 Best Dentists by Peer Recognition, 2000 and 2007.

John Holtzen, DMD Oral Surgeon Dr. Holtzen is a native of Northern California. He grew up in the small town of Healdsburg and is a graduate of California State University. In 1994 he graduated in the top of his class from Temple University School of Dentistry with his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. He then completed a surgical internship at the Johns Hopkins University Hospital and then later, a surgical residency at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center and MCP Hahnemann University Hospitals. Presently, Dr. Holtzen is Board Certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and also by the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology. Dedication to ongoing professional development through continuing education and the acquisition of new technologies is the core of Dr. Holtzen’s practice. Dr. Holtzen is an executive member of the Southern Nevada Dental Society and President of the Las Vegas Centre for Oral and Facial Aesthetics study club. He is an associate professor at the University of Nevada School of Medicine.

Brendan G. Johnson, DDS, OMFS Oral Surgeon Dr. Brendan Johnson received his doctorate of dental surgery at the University of the Pacific in San Francisco, California in 1994. He then began residency training at UCLA and the Sepulveda Veterans Medical Center. For the next four years his training continued at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri, the University of Oklahoma, and Oklahoma Children’s Hospital in 1999. He then moved to Las Vegas with his wife and two children as co-founder of Nevada Oral & Facial Surgery with Dr. John Holtzen. His vision was to offer the most technically advanced maxillofacial and oral surgical care possible with an uncompromising commitment to excellence. In addition to years of training at respected academic medical centers, he has served as resident surgeon for the John Keys Craniofacial, Cleft Lip and Palate Team and is an associate professor at the University of Nevada School of Medicine. He was also appointed to the Southern Nevada Peer Review Board, and is an executive member of the Southern Nevada Dental Society. He is also a member of the Las Vegas Centre of Oral and Facial Aesthetics study club.
